A Visit To Your Local Poultry Show

There are poultry shows up and down the country – bravely returning from the ban during the avian flu outbreaks earlier in the year. Exhibitors come from all walks of life, and all ages with a surprising number of juniors being keen exhibitors. It’s a hobby that has been popular since the late nineteenth century and show cases breeds. If you are not sure what an Appenzeller looks like or wonder what constitutes a Buff Laced Orpington, then a show is the place to see them in the colourful and lively flesh.

How are they judged?
