A very different jamboree

We had always heard of Mandi Dabwali and its Jeeps. This time round Rahul Ghosh decided to delve deeper and even got a short drive in a rebuilt Jeep.

The story of the Jeep is a rather old one. There were millions made and all with the idea of having a rather long life. They were simple machines devoid of complex electronics and this would mean that they could be repaired on a field with a hammer and a couple of wrenches. This thought had always been on my mind and for the longest period of time I wanted to experience an old army auction Jeep. Google told me that there is a small town in Haryana called Dabwali where old Jeeps are blessed with new life. So with a tankful of fuel and an overcast sky, we drove out of the NCR. Now before we get to the town and its wares have a look at this black beauty!
