“When I was told I was infertile I became somewhat cold. I was no longer Denise, I was the infertile woman struggling to have a baby. I was used to the fact that my body didn't work in the correct manner. The acceptance part of being infertile changes you because you go into a dark place.” For so many women this rings true and strikes a deep and painful chord. Denise Phillips, has been an ambassador for women struggling with fertility in Ireland, becoming a beacon of hope for so many. In sharing her experience on social media, she has opened up a space for others to feel empowered to share their own journey and remove the stigma of speaking about infertility.
Prior to the pandemic school was a stable and predictable environment for a child. However, the impact of lockdowns, restrictions and closures has had an effect. Back to school can present new mental health challenges. Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, Claudia Malocca, has some tips on reducing anxiety for the transition back to school.
