Dallas Cowboys

The combination of the recent injuries and their star running back being suspended has equaled disaster for the Cowboys. Their season has spiraled out of control over the past few weeks.

Fortunately for the Boys, All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith returned from a groin injury on Thanksgiving for their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Having him back did not make much of a difference however, as the Cowboys were dominated by the Chargers 28-6. Linebacker Sean Lee did not play in the game, as he is still dealing with a left hamstring injury. Lee is one of the Cowboys’ best defensive players and they need him back as soon as possible.

After the loss to the Chargers, Dallas decided to make a few moves. On Nov. 27, they officially released running back Darren McFadden and kicker Mike Nugent. McFadden played in just one game this season and had only one carry. He officially retired from the NFL on Nov. 28. The Cowboys signed Nugent in October after Dan Bailey was injured. Bailey returned on Thanksgiving, so Nugent was subsequently cut.

On Nov. 27, the Cowboys signed defensive end Datone Jones. A former first round pick by the Green Bay Packers, Jones has bounced around a lot this season. He spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and San Francisco 49ers before landing in Dallas.

Life without Ezekiel Elliott has been very difficult for the Boys. Unless they pick it up soon, they can say goodbye to their playoff hopes.
