Countdown To The Festivals
Discover India's Northeast|September - October 2016

The manipur sangai festival (november 21-30), and the hornbill festival of nagaland (december 1-10), are two back-to-back cultural extravaganzas that draw culture, food and music aficionados from all over the country and abroad to imphal and kohima every year. This year too, the states are all geared up to take the events to the next level. A photo feature:

Countdown To The Festivals

THE MANIPUR Sangai Festival promises to display a plethora of cultural and indigenous sports events and mouthwatering cuisines of the region. A mélange of shows will showcase the rich heritage of the state. The festival is named after the endangered brow-antlered deer Sangai (also called the Dancing Deer), which inhabits Keibul Lamjao National Park, the only ‘floating’ national park in the world.
