‘Now I only do things that make me feel happy’

Suzi Grant, 69, is the author of the health book, Alternative Ageing. When you’re young, you’re more concerned with what other people think of you, and that was certainly the case for me. At age 30, I worked in TV and radio as a journalist and writer.

To have a job like that, you need to have some level of confidence, which I did, but at the same time, I always felt like I had to prove myself. I’d work long hours, trying to be the best, but back then, you had to keep up with the boys, which meant boozy lunches and evenings out in bars.
