65 Lb 12 Oz Carp Set For Official UK Record

THE second biggest known carp in the country has been banked, at a whopping 65 lb 12 oz, and experts are predicting it will become a new British record.

Korda account manager Ian Bailey banked the giant from Cambridgeshire’s Grenville Lake to set a new lake record.

Only the carp known as Captain Jack, stocked in Holme Fen, in the same county, is known to be bigger. However, that fish has already been rejected as a British record, despite having been caught at a weight of over the official 68 lb 1 oz best.

The current record carp, The Parrot, died in 2017 at Berkshire’s Wasing Estate, so now it looks as if this Grenville Lake fish will take the British crown within the next two or three years.
