My sister doesn't earn as much as me, and I know gift-giving in front of the extended family is hard for her. I want to make things easier by avoiding 'outdoing' her on the day, without disappointing my kids. I feel bad telling my kids they won't get big gifts, but I also don't want to put extra pressure on my sister.
