The Px8 S2 over- ears have many of the same enhancements on offer in the Px7 S3 model... so what could be worth the £200-plus extra?

When we reviewed the original Px8 headphones in 2022, we were blown away by the step up in sound quality from the Px7 S2 model.

Then we tested the Px7 S3 'phones earlier this year and noted that things had got better still, with improved noise-cancellation to boot. But we already knew even finer things were around the corner: B&W wasn't shy about saying the Px8 S2 update would soon emerge, even if there were no more details provided at the time.

Well, here they are... and, unsurprisingly, they're miles better than the PX8s they replace. But the real question is, are they that much better than the Px7 S3s?

After all, there's quite a hefty step up in price to these new cans, which clock in at £629 (although, if I'm honest, I was expecting the gap to be even bigger than that).

So how do they compare... and are the Px8 S2s worth the money on their own?
