Yes, the M5-powered MacBook generation has arrived. This is the entry-level Pro (if that term can possibly be applied to a laptop at this price), though there aren’t M5 Pro or M5 Max versions available yet – doubtless they’ll be here in early 2026. This model is only available in 14in form.

The MacBook Pro’s design hasn’t changed since 2022 save for the debut of ‘space black’ alongside the familiar silver shades. So what’s improved? With the M5 you’re talking a step up in the order of 20% over the M4 for multi-core performance. It even outperforms the M3 Pro, though not the M4 Pro.
