Road trip proves to be a success as Sandyford earn first-day win

The visitors managed to find their way to 180-9 in the formative stages of the contest to give themselves a defendable total.

Joe Warrilow top-scored with 49, but there were solid contributions throughout the Sandyford innings.

Joe Ward (24), Richard Bradshaw (23) and Neil Skillcorn (21) all helped their side to a competitive score.

Ella Thomas was the pick of the Woore attack, finishing with 3-26, while there were a couple of wickets apiece for Andy Kenvyn and Hayyan Khan.

Sam Askey (46), Martin Webb (28) and Khan (27) fronted the Woore run chase after the interval.

But it wasn’t quite enough as the home side were bowled out for 159.

Preston Davies and Asachveer Singh-Kaller helped themselves to 4-26 and 3-10 respectively.

Kieron McKinney chipped in with a couple of wickets to make it the ideal start for Sandyford.

Leycett's bowlers were in prime form as they set up a seven-wicket win at Whitmore seconds.
