Focus is the watchword for Moore ahead of away test

PORT Vale could be promoted back to League One today as they tackle AFC Wimbledon in a lunchtime showdown (12.30pm) live on Sky.

- Clive Youlton

Darren Moore's side need to win to give themselves the best chance of doing so but even a draw could see them go up if Walsall lose later in the day.

There are plenty of permutations as you would expect with two matches to play but Moore is simply concentrating on beating the Dons - following a defeat and a draw in their Vale's two matches where they have shipped five goals.

Scoring has not been a problem, but defending their goal has proved more of an issue and that is something that needs to be addressed.

“You can come up with permutations but whatever you come up with, that's probably wrong,” reckoned Moore.

“Because that's football. We have a job to do and we want to try and get a result and that's what we will focus on.”

There is a feelgood factor ahead of the game and Moore explained: “I don't think you can get to that feelgood factor we have now if there's not consistency with the team and the supporters.
