Family believes death was 'preventable'
A GRIEVING family are demanding answers from the NHS after the treatment he received as a toddler led to his death 25 years later.
Collin Junior Lou Macari Stoke City Price - named after his dad’s love of the club - died at the age of just 27.
An inquest into his death heard Collin had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour when he was just two-years-old after relatives noticed he was suffering developmental delays, seizures and lethargy.
Doctors were able to treat the medulloblastoma - a fast-acting tumour that develops in the cerebellum and is crucial for controlling movement and coordination with an intensive course of surgery and radiation.
But the treatment had tragically unforeseen consequences.
More than two decades later, on January 10, 2024, Collin was admitted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital after suffering seizures.
Scans then confirmed he had developed another brain tumour.
