The high court flagged the issue relating to the dispute over 123 properties, where the Delhi Waqf Board lays its claim while the Centre has de-listed them, and said some of them are very lucrative properties in Delhi and are in the heart of the city.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet PS Arora referred to one of the cases dealt by it in which a property in Nizamuddin East, branded as a Waqf property, was sold multiple times before a hotel was constructed on it without any official sanctions.
