The green, green grass of home is key for Jarrow boss Malia
August 02, 2025
|The Journal
JARROW manager Kennie Malia is hoping Perth Green can provide a solid base for a successful push after a mixed start to the new season.
-
Malia’s men started the season on home soil with a 4-3 win against Alnwick Town last weekend before suffering a 2-0 loss on their own patch against Park View AFC in midweek.
Unusually, Jarrow now face a third home game inside seven days as they host unbeaten Yarm and Eaglescliffe today - and they head into that fixture with the demands of their manager ringing in their ears.
Malia said: “It's great to have started with three at home but ahead of the season we said we knew they weren't easy games because it was a case of facing two sides that were in the playoffs and Alnwick, who finished last season strongly. All three were always going to be tough but we want to make Perth Green a fortress and we made a big thing of that last year.
