Festive cheer brought to the streets by People's Kitchen

THE People's Kitchen Christmas Street Party and light switch-on in Newcastle was a big success.

On Monday night, trustees, volunteers and friends of the Newcastle city centre charity got together to celebrate the festive period.
The aim of the event is to bring hope and a sense of normality to vulnerable people and those affected by homelessness this Christmas.
The proceedings, which took place just outside of the charity's home on Bath Lane, saw around 250 people receive gifts from Santa, as well as a piping hot meal.
