Council confident that it can balance care budget

CARE for both children and adults continues to pile significant pressure on Northumberland County Council's coffers.

The latest figures, which over the period to the end of February, show that there has been an overspend of more than £2.5m on adult social care and more than £10m on children’s services.
Despite the challenges, leading councillors are confident that the final financial report for 2024/25 will see a balanced budget.
