city's Quayside sold for £5.5m

ONE of Newcastle's most prominent bars has been sold for more than £5.5m.
The Pitcher & Piano, on the city’s Quayside, was on the market for £5.95m.
The sale by Savills to Cable Properties will not affect the operation of the riverside bar, which has proved popular since opening in the 1990s for its riverside views. As well as a popular drinking venue, it has a small restaurant known for its views of the Millennium Bridge and the Baltic and Glasshouse cultural venues.
The property covers 10,885sqft across three floors, with capacity for 500 customers on the ground floor and 150 on the first floor, alongside a separate external terrace.
