The Huddersfield Daily Examiner

MORE than 100 Huddersfield pubs and bars have been awarded the highest ranking when it comes to food hygiene.

Our cleanest pubs with a 5-star rating

The Lord Wilson, King Street, Huddersfield.

Local authorities are responsible for enforcing the government's food hygiene ratings system which came into effect in 2010.

This allows the public to access information about the hygiene standards of food-related businesses. Fortunately, for those in Huddersfield and the surrounding areas, many venues have received a rating of 'five' from the Food Standards Agency.

A score of five means that a business has “very good” hygiene standards and is fully compliant with the law. At the other end of the spectrum is a rating of zero, meaning that “urgent improvement” is required.

Below is every single five-rated venue in Huddersfield named in the “pub/bar/nightclub” category on the Food Standards Agency website:

■Almondbury Bowling Club, Westgate, Almondbury, Huddersfield, HD5 8XN
