Council still owed more than £24m in uncollected tax
December 04, 2025
|The Huddersfield Daily Examiner
AROUND 96 per cent of council tax due to be paid by Calderdale residents will be collected by the year’s end, councillors have been told.
-
That still means that, as of the end of October, £24,001,604 was still owed to Calderdale Council.
The council uses the money to pay for services, including social care, which has to legally provide for those qualifying for packages. Calderdale should receive £128.3m from council tax in 2025-26.
