Anti-spiking charity to stage fund-raising ball

THE first ball for a charity dedicated to stopping drinks spiking is to be held in Plymouth later this year.

The UK-based anti-spiking charity Stamp Out Spiking will hold its inaugural charity ball on Saturday, September 27.

The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth, raising vital funds, and raising awareness of the growing spiking epidemic.

With Plymouth currently recording the highest rate of spiking incidents in the South West, this event is intended to mark a major milestone in the fight to protect local communities from the growing and dangerous threat of drink, vape and substance spiking.

A local anonymous victim said: "You really don’t expect it to happen in small villages, you always expect it in big cities. But it does happen and that is how I was targeted."
