Ministers Offer Concessions on AI Bill Amid Row Over Copyright

Ministers have pledged to assess the economic impact of proposed AI copyright reforms in an attempt to placate peers and Labour backbenchers concerned about their effect on the creative industries.
Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Tom Stoppard and Kate Bush are among thousands of creatives to condemn proposals to let artificial intelligence companies train their models on copyright-protected work without permission, unless the rights holder opts out.
They have been backed by peers, who have passed legislative amendments pushing back on the reforms, as well as some backbench MPs.
