Senior high school TVL learners to get free NC assessments

Senior High School (SHS) learners under the Technical Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track can now avail of free assessments for their National Certification (NC), following a joint announcement by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The latest development was shared yesterday via the agencies' respective social media pages, with DepEd also releasing the implementing guidelines for the free assessments and the expansion of competency assessors.
"This is pursuant to pertinent provisions of Republic Act No.(RA) 11975 or the 'General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024' and RA 12116 or the 'GAA for FY 2025," Education Secretary Sonny Angara stated via DepEd Order 003 s.2025.
The order outlines the process for SHS-TVL learners to access free TESDA assessments and provides free accreditation for teaching and non-teaching personnel from both public and private schools as Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) competency assessors.
