Grab Philippines has trained more than 300 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in Cebu to sharpen their digital capabilities, as the platform accelerates efforts to prepare small businesses for fiercer online competition and fast-changing consumer habits.

The Cebu leg marked the culmination of Grab Asenso's nationwide Digital Diskarte program, an eight-city learning caravan rolled out across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao this year.

The initiative is part of Grab's broader plan to ensure that every merchant on its platform is "digitally ready to compete and thrive" in an increasingly crowded marketplace.

"We brought Grab Asenso to Cebu because it remains one of the country's most dynamic business hubs," said Paula Catanghal, Grab Philippines Deputy Head for Cities. "Competition here is intense. Digital skills—whether in marketing, AI use, or payments—are no longer optional for MSMEs that want to stand out."

During the one-day Cebu program, participants—from home-based sellers to established food and retail businesses—received practical training on digital marketing across platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, product positioning, and consumer engagement.
