Mandaue new traffic scheme effective, says TEAM head

After the successful rollout of a new traffic scheme at the U.N. Avenue and M.C. Briones St. intersection, the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM) said it is now targeting another major traffic chokepoint in the city.

TEAM Head Hyll Retuya told reporters, in an interview, that his office has been receiving "positive" feedback from motorists, noting that driving at the intersection has improved due to the wider lanes.

He also added that since the traffic sequence has been improved, their focus now is on managing the traffic volume at other intersections in the city.

With the increasing volume of vehicles passing through the intersection, Retuya said that the TEAM is now looking at a different approach to solve the issues along the highway, particularly on C.D Seno Street and Maguikay Flyover to further improve the city's traffic situation.
