"In a world that feels increasingly fragmented, Engkwentro enjoins audiences to experience what it means to come together. To encounter difference not with division, but with dialogue. To create art not just as expression, but as participation - in healing, in harmony, and in hope.
This was what Cebu's Galerie Raphael wrote to encapsulate the curatorial leanings of “Engkwentro: A Collective Encounter of Art, Environment and Unity”, one of the gallery’s recent featured exhibitions.
Top-billed by sculptures, wall-bound pieces and installations made by Sam Penaso, Joey Labrador, Mel Araneta, Jezi Lascuña, Denis Fernandez, Ariel Manalo, RV Basco and Katrina Cuenca, this exhibit was presented as a “living testament” to what happens when different creative energies and views come together for a higher purpose.

There’s no moral difference between the incompetent incumbent president and the overly-ambitious vice president. The only reason why the disgruntled military isn’t intervening to oust BBM is the more dangerous option of having a more scheming vice president and her controversial brothers and devious old father.
