Arwen earns medal double at Wavertree

The West Cheshire Athletic Club teenager achieved a new personal best throw in the under 17 women's javelin of 34.89m for a silver medal, and cleared a new personal best of 1-60m in the high jump for a bronze medal.

Arwen contributed towards a club medal haul at Wavertree, Liverpool, of five silver and two bronze medals.

Dylan Gledhill launched the under 15 boys javelin to a new personal best distance of 41.66m for a silver medal.

Tristan Lee sprinted home to a time of 13.03 seconds to secure a silver medal in the under 13 boys 100m

Mia Johnson was rewarded with a silver medal after achieving a time of 25.66 seconds in the under 15 girls 200m final.

Lucas Sawyer rounded the under 13 boys 800m in a new personal best time of 2:19.06 for a silver medal.

And Seb Whiteley returned home with a bronze medal from the under 17 men's shot put after hitting a new personal best distance of 13.07m.

Many other West Cheshire AC youngsters produced impressive performances in the miserable wet and windy weather conditions during the two-day fixture.

Louis Grimes clocked a new under 15 boys 400m personal best of 40.03 seconds for fourth spot, while Violet Thorne celebrated a new under 15 girls hammer throw of 28.54m for fourth place, and Alba March posted 26.14 seconds in her under 17 women's 200m final for fourth position and 12.60 seconds for fifth place in her 100m final.

Satine Wearden hit 39.61m for fifth spot in the under 17 women's hammer, while Beth Manson was seventh in her under 17 women's 300m final with 43.33 seconds.
