Survey feedback guides public rights of way vision

SURREY County Council has created a 10-year plan setting out how its 2,164 miles of public rights of way will be maintained.
-
The objectives of the Rights of Way Improvement Plan have been guided by responses from a survey asking residents to share their views on the county's footpaths. The main concerns raised by walkers were overgrown paths, lack of signage, poor surfaces and obstructions from fallen trees.
The county council has said the responses to the survey have helped it understand what needs to be done to improve these footpaths, and it has created a number of objectives for its 2025-2035 improvement plan, with additional detail on how they will be carried out.
