STOKE D’Abernon lost a high-scoring Surrey Championship Division Two game by 35 runs against Old Wimbledonians on Saturday.

Stoke had their hosts 115-4 at one stage, but Tim Sealy-Fisher made 43, the entrée for debutant Matthew Somaru to slug 94 off 89 to leave Stoke chasing an even 300.

Max Subba Row got through a full ten over allocation for the first time since May 2021 and took 4-45; Declan Ritchie took a brace, Jase Earl one, and Will Frost his 399th career wicket with his 13,407th delivery for the club.

Stoke made a good fist of the chase with Ian Hopton making a run-a-ball 54. Billy Zander and Jake Raffaelli played nicely, but substance to the total was provided by Ritchie who made 93 from 79.
