FORMER SWANS BOSS TIPPED TO REPLACE MARK HARPER AT CHERTSEY
-
FORMER Walton & Hersham and Kingstonian manager Scott Harris is favourite for the vacant Chertsey Town job, the Surrey Advertiser understands.
The Curfews announced on Monday in statement on X, formerly Twitter, that it had been “mutually agreed” that Mark Harper and his assistant Scott Tarr would resign “with immediate effect” after two years at the club.
In his first year in charge at Alwyns Lane, Harper, in his second spell, guided Chertsey to the Isthmian League South Central crown, clocking up 100 points along the way and scoring 103 goals.
Having won that title - the Curfews' first since their double winning campaign in 2018-19 - Chertsey were placed in the Southern League Premier South.
And while making the step up, Chertsey survived by just one point on the final day of the campaign despite a 3-1 loss at Poole Town.
Now with their place in the division confirmed, the Curfews have opted to make a change for the new season.
