Boldon CA joint-manager Chris Spence admitted 'stern words' were said during his side's defeat at Northern League Division Two promotion contenders FC Hartlepool.

The hosts did all of the hard work in the opening 45 minutes as a Nathan Bayes brace and a Mikey McGee effort put them firmly in control when the halftime whistle was blown.
After a talking to during the interval, Boldon improved and grabbed a goal back when Sam Watts found the net with 10 minutes remaining.
However, it was Hartlepool that had the final say as Joe Spalding restored their three-goal advantage in injury-time.
Spence could not hide his disappointment over the performance but insisted he could take some positives from the upturn in performance after the restart.
