|Sunderland Echo
Fresh from scaling Kilimanjaro, Paul "The Mackem' Holborn is now heading to the Arctic to take on one of the world's toughest races.
Paul Holborn is no stranger to extreme challenges.
A dedicated supporter of Age UK Sunderland, Paul will be racing 293 miles (472 km) through the Swedish Arctic for the charity on Monday, February 9, completing a self-supported expedition from Abisko to Hemavan in the world-renowned Montane Arctic Spine.
Often described as one of the toughest races on Earth, the Arctic Spine is a nonstop foot race across the iconic Kungsleden Trail, surrounded by some of the most breathtaking-and brutal-winter landscapes imaginable.
