Dr Petha promotes healthy living

The president of the Rotary Club of Polokwane, Dr Petha Francis conducts free workshops on healthy living to recognised organisations and religious institutions.

Francis was the first practitioner in natural medicine (ayurvedic medicine and therapeatic reflexiology) to be appointed as a practitioner at the Westville University Campus in 2003, under the vice chancellorship of Dr Sats Cooper.

In 2004 he was required to spread information on healthy living to all the campuses of the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and also other campuses.

According to Francis, a student can obtain a university PHD but is not taught how to live a healthy life. Attending university is a pinnacle of academic formal educationyet it has a poor outcome in terms of healthy living, he said.
