Celebrations as Renfrew's delighted manager looks forward to bigger challenge next season

Jimmy Quigley expressed his delight in getting out of the “toughest league” after Renfrew’s promotion to the West of Scotland Premier Division was confirmed.

The 'Frew boss saw his side return to the top table on goal difference despite a 2-0 loss to Petershill on Saturday, with promotion rivals Kilwinning Rangers' 1-1 draw at home to St Roch's not enough to spoil the party.

There will now be three Renfrewshire teams battling it out in the Premier Division with Arthurlie going up as champions to join 'Frew and Junior Cup finalists Johnstone Burgh.

Quigley joined Renfrew in 2021 - overseeing two promotions in three-and-a-half years - and now it's all about competing with the West's best.

He told Express Sport this week: "Delighted, absolutely delighted.
