Breakdown of commitments

The SNP’s budget motion for 2026/27 has passed after achieving 23 votes to the 11 secured by the Labour group's amendment.

Councillor John Shaw, the administration's finance convener, set out Renfrewshire Council's spending plans for the upcoming financial year.

Some of the wide-ranging commitments are as follows:

£1.3 million to be spent on maintenance and repairs of council housing;

£1.3m for Fairer Renfrewshire work, such as the £50 winter school clothing payment, Winter Connections and funding for Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau for welfare rights advocacy and a school advice service;

£150,000 for a community improvement fund;
