A former Johnstone GP has been nominated for a prestigious national art award.
Margaret Borthwick, a Kilbarchan contemporary artist, has been shortlisted for the prestigious British Art Prize 2025.
The 77-year-old was chosen for her oil painting depicting a pond at the Calgary Art and Sculpture Trail on the Isle of Mull.
Margaret was inspired to paint the pond on a visit to the island with family in September 2024 - capturing reflections, light, pattern and a sense of calm and peace.
Just 50 artists have been selected from a record 2,900 submissions received from across the UK.
