Takeaway chain vows to act over one-star hygiene rating

A TAKEAWAY chain says “action will be taken" after its Nottingham branch was slapped with a one-star hygiene rating.

Management at Wok and Go, which runs 12 Chinese-inspired noodle bars across the country, say staff at the Hockley store “have clearly allowed standards to drop”.

The Pelham Street restaurant received a one-star rating after an inspection from Nottingham City Council's Environmental Health team on November 18.

The inspectors said improvements were needed in staff's hygienic handling of food and the cleanliness and condition of the building, a Wok and Go for more than a decade.
