Earnings set to fall at B&M

B&M, the discount retailer, has warned that it anticipates a year-on-year decline in full-year earnings due to weak UK sales affecting the company’s overall performance.

However, the firm informed markets yesterday that it expects to report earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) above the midpoint of its £605m-£625m guidance range.
The company had previously reduced its expected full-year EBITDA from £620m-£650m in February, citing trading performance, economic uncertainty, and potential exchange rate volatility as factors.
