100% increase in funds to maintain city's roads

£16 MILLION BOOST WILL ENABLE 11 MAJOR ROUTES TO BE RESURFACED
ELEVEN Nottingham roads are set to benefit from resurfacing work, with a further two dozen to receive maintenance, as part of a £16 million funding boost.
Earlier this month, Nottingham City Council confirmed it had been given the money by the East Midlands Combined County Authority for a range of new transport projects.
The money, to be made available in four streams, will be invested this year and next.
The city council says some of the money will be used to double the budget for highway maintenance in the city.
