THE Town Lands and Almshouse Charity in Great Torrington has waved goodbye to its long-standing steward, Ian Newman.

Mr Newman retired on Tuesday, March 25, after 13 years of dedicated service.

During his tenure, he steered the charity through a period of significant modernisation. When he joined, minutes and accounts were still handwritten.
