Why Bam, Tol, and Kiko are worth voting for
May 6, 2025
|Manila Bulletin
I join Manila Bulletin publisher and former Press Secretary Sonny Coloma in endorsing the senatorial candidacies of Bam Aquino, Tol Tolentino, and Kiko Pangilinan who are all within striking distance of gaining a spot in the so-called Magic 12, as shown in surveys.
-
I don’t usually endorse specific candidates primarily because I don’t want other senatorial aspirants to feel offended when they’re not mentioned, especially my close friends many of whom are persistently within the winning circle and, thus, no longer in dire need of endorsement.
And mentioning them all will lead to a very long list which will defeat the purpose, and ultimately result in something much less impactful than just a few names that readers won’t have a hard time remembering during that crucial moment when they’re shading their ballot.
FINDING ANSWERS
FORMER SENATOR ATTY. JOEY D. LINA
Because Aquino, Tolentino, and Pangilinan appear to be within reach of a Senate slot with elections less than a week away, a final push is necessary to increase chances of victory. And pushing for the three is quite practical, which cannot be said of other candidates who are way down in almost all surveys and, thus, don’t seem to have a realistic chance of winning.
In his April 17 “Endeavor” column, Sonny said the three senatorial candidates, along with former COA Commissioner Heidi Mendoza, are on top of his list. He said that particular column “is dedicated to sharing with readers my thoughts on who might be deserving, too, of their votes.”
