SESKO NEEDS TO STAND UP AS CLOCK TICKS FOR AMORIM...

IN ordinary circumstances, a first goal for a United striker particularly one costing £74million - would have been major news.

SESKO NEEDS TO STAND UP AS CLOCK TICKS FOR AMORIM...

Unfortunately for Benjamin Sesko, these are extraordinary circumstances at United and, as such, his first goal for his new club went largely under the radar.

That is because it came in a depressingly familiar 3-1 defeat at Brentford last weekend, a loss which compounded United’s worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign.

Considering this in the 34th season since the English First Division was rebranded and relaunched, that is some going from Ruben Amorim’s side, who have a paltry seven points from a possible 18.

Of the many problems that plagued United last season, scoring goals was the biggest they faced, with just 44 in the league.

Only Everton and the three relegated teams scored fewer than United, a damning statistic which underlines just how meek they were in front of goal.
