You could never tyre of Las Vegas...

F1 fans sported their colours, with Ferrari hats and Red Bull jackets as far as the eye could see.

I, myself, am a McLaren fan, of which there were also plenty, courtesy, of course, of CEO Zak Brown being American. But no matter who you were supporting, you felt among your people as F1 fever gripped Vegas. And even if you weren't there for the race itself, it was hard to ignore the excitement that having stars like Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and now-World Champion Lando Norris in your midst brought to your trip.

If none of that got your adrenaline going, though, not to worry because this is Vegas after all - famous for not only its gambling but excellent shopping, exquisite fine dining and nonstop entertainment.

While all roads led to race day for us, we enjoyed everything else that Vegas has to offer along the way - and what a ride it was!

From watching The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere - another recent-enough innovation to the city - to seeing O By Cirque Du Soleil at the Bellagio and dining at High Steaks, the newest restaurant by chef James Trees - and the simply sublime Prime Steakhouse overlooking the famous Bellagio Fountains, we more than indulged on a trip that just kept on giving.

Eating in High Steaks (highsteaks.vegas/), on the 50th floor of Rio Hotel & Casino, on your first night in Vegas is a tip I would probably normally not give - for fear of peaking too soon. The food here is nothing short of exquisite - with seafood towers so extravagant you need your sea legs to eat it and steak so tender, a butter knife cuts through it.

And that's all before you take in the views over the city from the restaurant's wraparound terrace. Incredible.

I genuinely believed we had peaked - but Vegas is one of those cities that just never ceases to amaze you, stacking up delight after delight like chips on a poker table.

I've always been vocal about telling my friends that some of the very best food I have enjoyed has been in Las Vegas and that view certainly hasn't changed over the years.
