Ireland the 'most generous nation' after €50m in GoFundMe donations

IRELAND has cemented its reputation as the most generous country in the world, proving once again that the nation’s compassion knows no bounds.

An incredible €50 MILLION was raised on crowdfunding platform GoFundMe in 2025, with one in every ten Irish people digging deep into their pockets to support a staggering 28,000 causes.

The figure ensures Ireland retains the coveted title of “World's Most Generous Country” for an unprecedented seventh year in a row, with over 560,000 donors uniting in an outpouring of community spirit.

Among this year’s many acts of kindness were fundraisers to support a 13-year-old amputee following a farming accident , a young man’s recovery while working in Australia and to fund urgent overseas medical treatments for Irish children facing life-threatening illnesses.
