Soren distributes over 28k tablets to schools

Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren distributed tablets to 28,945 government primary schools at a function organised by the school education and literacy department at Project Bhawan Secretariat on Friday.

RANCHI: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on Friday launched the state employee health insurance scheme at a function at the state legislative assembly auditorium in Ranchi.

According to a press release issued by the CM's office, the scheme will be implemented from March 1.

"The state employee health insurance scheme is being implemented from March 1. In the first phase, all working state employees will benefit from this scheme. For other categories of employees, the scheme will be applicable from May 1. The benefits will extend to employees of all state services, members of the legislative assembly, retired employees, family pension recipients and their dependents, former members of the state legislative assembly, serving and retired officers of All India Services willing to serve, working and retired regular employees of various boards, corporations, institutions, and organizations under the state government, working and retired teachers and non-teaching staff of universities and colleges, and registered advocates," the press release stated.

The press release added, "Under this scheme, beneficiaries will be able to avail cashless treatment of up to 25 lakh in any hospital in the country that is part of the health department's panel. In case of serious illnesses, medical expenses up to 10 lakh will also be covered. If treatment costs exceed this amount, additional expenses will be provided from the corpus fund. Additionally, in special circumstances, air ambulance services will also be made available to beneficiaries."
