Bueno jumps at chance to drag Wolves out of the mire

WOLVES survived a test in Grimsby as the League Two side's hopes of taking another top-flight scalp got stuck in the mud.

It was not pretty but Santiago Bueno's second-half strike was enough for the Premier League strugglers to get past their hosts in less than hospitable surroundings.

The Mariners had humbled Manchester United in the Carabao Cup in August and smelled more blood. This would have been less of an upset, given Wolves' problems this season, and the treacherous conditions at Blundell Park were a definite leveller as the quagmire pitch made it impossible to play any quality football.
