Cunha then caution is way forward at United

OMAR BERRADA has warned Manchester United must be “prudent” in this summer’s transfer window, despite closing in on a £62.5m deal to sign Matheus Cunha.

Chief exec Berrada has said United, who are coming off their worst season since being relegated in 1974-75, will try to show “ambition” when it comes to their recruitment.

But after missing out on the Champions League by losing last week’s Europa League final to Spurs, the revamp of Ruben Amorim's squad will need to be reined in.

United were banking on that £100m prize to revitalise a team that finished a dire 15th in the Premier League.
