Tarvet's money shot as he chases another wild dream

OLIVER TARVET is banking on another dream week at Wimbledon.

Last summer, college star Tarvet was handed an unexpected wild card into Wimbledon qualifying and made it all the way to Centre Court to face Carlos Alcaraz.

But the Brit, ranked at No.733, was not allowed to keep his £99,000 prize money because he was a university student in the United States.

Having now graduated from the University of San Diego last month following a stellar college career on court, Tarvet will have no such problems with whatever earnings he collects this time around.

He lost to former No.1 Alcaraz in straight sets last year, but bounced back to win an ITF title in Roehampton the following week. For many, that would be enough to turn professional.
