Isak poised for Howe showdown

WANTAWAY striker Alexander Isak will come face to face with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe today for the first time since it emerged he wants to quit the Magpies for Liverpool.

After the long flight, Howe decided against going to see Isak, who spent three and a half hours at the club’s Benton base.

In that time, he received treatment on the thigh injury which has troubled him throughout preseason and held informal talks with several club officials.
