DONALD Trump has prattled on for one hour and 47 minutes in the longest-ever State of the Union address. His rambling lecture to Congress saw him brag to fellow Americans: “We’re winning too much.”

Whiskey sour: US statesman Andrew Johnson was famously hammered for his inaugural speech as vice president in March 1865. He knocked back three glasses of whiskey, then delivered an address described as “hostile, incoherent and self-aggrandising.”

He still got promoted to president when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated the next month.
